A 6-month transformative leadership training designed for female procurement leads

Secure Your Place!

Women, according to Gartner, are increasingly joining the supply chain field, with 41% of procurement officers being female in 2021, an increase of 35% since 2016.

However, the 2023 CIPS salary guide shows there is still a gender pay gap at every level within the profession overall. At the Advanced Professional level there is a 25% gap in pay.

This means that the average salary at this level for men is £96,388 and £77,093 for women – a difference of £19,295.

While things are moving in the right direction, there is still much work to be done.

It is clear that this topic is a notable gap within the procurement literature. Not only is female representation in senior executive positions very low in procurement, lower than in other professions, but also the procurement literature has been largely silent with very few studies covering this.

All studies in this area have recommended a need for developing female procurement networks, and female leadership training that is more effective and focused.

There are real benefits to having more female leaders in your procurement teams.

Research by McKinsey & Company found that companies in the top quartile for gender diversity on executive teams were 21% more likely to experience above-average profitability

A study by the Peterson Institute found that companies with at least 30% female executives were more likely to have above-average profitability than companies with fewer women in leadership positions.

Research by Gartner found that organisations with diverse and inclusive teams can experience a 25% increase in financial performance compared to those with less diverse teams.

EPV refers to the unique set of benefits and rewards that an organisation offers to its employees in exchange for their skills, talents, and dedication.

Investing in female leadership training is a crucial component of a company's EPV and can yield numerous benefits.

It promotes diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment that embraces different perspectives, experiences, and ideas.

Investing in female leadership training enhances employee engagement and satisfaction.

Additionally, research has shown that gender-diverse leadership teams lead to better decision-making, increased innovation, and improved financial performance

Engaging in female leadership training and diversity initiatives is crucial for future-proofing organisations, particularly as Gen Z enters the workforce with a strong emphasis on equality and inclusivity.

This generation is highly aware of social issues and actively seeks out companies that align with their values. They expect organisations to prioritise diversity and provide equal opportunities for all employees, regardless of gender. By investing in female leadership training and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, companies can attract and retain top talent from Gen Z, ensuring a pipeline of skilled professionals who are committed to the organisation's mission and values.

By embracing gender equality and providing opportunities for women to excel in leadership roles, organisations can not only meet the expectations of Gen Z but also create a thriving and resilient workforce capable of adapting to future challenges and driving sustainable success.

FLIP is created and founded by Laura Scarfe, a procurement and emotional intelligence specialist, and we have gathered a unique global team of experts in Leadership, emotional intelligence and procurement to deliver prestige training through a hybrid approach of both virtual and in-person sessions.

The AVA framework is what we have identified to be key issues that female leads in procurement need, and our 12 modules of training fit within these three categories.

Awareness of the self is the first stage to master, with help from a number of psychometric tests to shed light on personal strengths and weaknesses to be addressed.

Visibility of presence is the second stage where we learn that you do not need to be granted permission to take up space, to own your strengths and put these into action through negotiating and persuading stakeholders.

One of the key outcomes of our programme is helping you find your authentic style of leadership. We will help you develop the confidence to lead in a way that feels true to who you are.

Focusing on not only traditional leadership approaches, FLIP is innovative with its behavioural focus, using cutting-edge scientific research applied to the procurement context.

We understand the unique challenges that women face in the procurement industry. That's why our programme is designed specifically to address these challenges and help you succeed as a procurement leader. Our goal is to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to rise to the top of your field.
